Tyler Tankersley joined Second Baptist Church staff in November 2009 serving as  Student Pastor. Tyler is a native of Southeast Missouri. In December 2009, he graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in cultural anthropology and comparative religious studies. From 2007-2009 he was the Young Adult Minister at First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau. He has been the featured speaker at various youth events, summer camps, and university discussion forums.

 

He and his wife, Jess, have been married since June 2008. Jess graduated with Honors in December 2009 from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in general studies. For the past year she has been the Director of Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church of Cape Girardeau.  Jess and Tyler enjoy hiking, camping, reading, movies, and good coffee.
