Psalm 148

“Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heavens above.” (Psalm 148:1)

The psalmist exclaims, “Praise the Lord,” and calls on all in the heavens to join him. Praise also echoes from the earth, building to a crescendo as one by one all of Creation joins in the shouts of praise.

As I read through today’s passage, I was reminded of how fortunate I am to live in such an extraordinary world.

In late September, my husband and I took a trip out to Colorado to visit relatives and friends. We drove over the magnificent peaks of Vail Pass and Monarch Pass. We watched three mountain goats climb straight up the sheer ledges. We spotted bald eagles flying over the Colorado River. We took many pictures of the beautiful golden aspen trees and the snow-topped mountain peaks. It was a wonderful experience!

No matter where we have lived or visited during our 48 years of marriage, we have seen our Heavenly Father’s wondrous creations. We must never forget to praise Him for what He has provided for us.

During the Advent season, we are more aware of God’s greatest gift. “For God so love the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

What a loving Heavenly Father. Praise the Lord!
