NEW CONNECTION CLASS

Sunday, January 22
9:45 a.m.

Oak Room 301

Looking for meaningful ways to connect at Second Baptist Church? “Connections” is the perfect opportunity for new members, those who consider this their church home, and anyone exploring the Second Baptist community to discover all that is available!

Connections is designed to encourage each person to find new energy and purpose through serving Christ in and through the church and to discover how God’s gifts and one’s personal interests and skills can come together here at Second Baptist Church. Led by Greg Duncan, this innovative, 5-week class begins January 15 in the Oak Room (301) from 9:45–10:45 a.m.

At the conclusion of the course, participants may choose to have a Connections Mentor who will continue to guide them as they make connections in the life of our faith community. Contact Maggie Henderson for more information. mhenderson@2bcliberty.org

Hearts-a-Million

CHILDREN’S VALENTINE PARTY(Children K-Fifth Grade)

Sunday, February 5
2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

2BC Assembly Room (No reservations needed)

The Children’s Ministry is having a Valentine Party on Sunday afternoon, February 5, from 2:00–3:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room. This time together will be an opportunity for children (K-5th grade) to create valentines for the patients at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. What a great way to share smiles and hugs with children who won’t be able to participate in a valentine experience in their schools. We’ll create cards and have some yummy refreshments together . . . and don’t worry: we’ll be through at 3:00 p.m. so you’ll have time to get ready for the Super Bowl.  See you there!

Baked Potato and Salad Lunch & Pie Auction

Sunday, February 5
Noon (following 11:00 worship)
Social Room

Tickets: $5.00

This year 20 students and chaperones will travel to Baylor University in Waco, TX, for the YouthCue Festival of Youth Choirs, a wonderful experience of choral singing.  But they need your help.  The costs of travel, lodging and the Festival can stretch the budgets of some of our families.  So we are holding another fund raiser to help our students and their families.  We’re bringing back the Baked Potato and Salad Lunch & Pie Auction. Three years ago we had a great time together and raised a lot of money.  Let’s do it again.

This year’s lunch will take place on Sunday, February 5, following 11:00 a.m. worship.  That’s also Super Bowl Sunday, but you will still have plenty of time to get to those parties—even take a pie!  After the lunch you will hear from the Student Choir and then the big pie auction will take place.

Cost of the meal is $5.00.  Tickets are available in the Welcome Center, from any Student Choir member, or in the church office.
For more information, please contact Allan Aunspaugh at 781-2824 or aaunspaugh@2bcliberty.org.
