ENCOURAGEMENT TEAM
About the Team
The Encouragement Team provides
support to church members, ministerial staff, and deacons. Our
scripture is: Therefore encourage one another and build each other up,
just as in fact you are doing (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
It is helpful to weep and mourn at times when
necessary. Also we should not let good times and events pass without
taking time to "laugh and dance." We hope you will share good news
about each other, but we also hope you will not be too modest to share
your own good news. It’s okay. We are the encouragement team. You are
helping us carry out Romans 12:15.
As a part of encouragement, we also believe in prayer
for others, especially in times of need. Please let the church office
know of special needs or requests for prayer that you may have or are
aware of. The team takes upon itself these main tasks:
1. To spread the good news to the church body at large
about individuals or groups who have good news to share (awards, job
promotion, birth announcements, engagement, recovery from illness,
etc.).
2. To celebrate with individuals or groups in their good news with congratulatory cards.
3. To help the congregation celebrate certain events (Church anniversary, 40-year member recognition, Big "0" Picnic).
4. To pray regularly for people and programs of the church.
5. To lead special prayer times such as the Celebration of Hope services and Silent Saturday.
