Intercessory Prayer
Do you want someone to pray?
Someone is . . .
Members of Second Baptist meet every Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. to
pray for needs in our congregation and community.
Make a Prayer Request >>>
Prayer may be as personal as "in your closet" or it may be as corporate
as Jesus praying with his disciples. It may be praise, thanksgiving, or
petition. It may be praying for the salvation of the world or of an
individual. It may be asking for guidance for public officials, safety
for missions volunteers, or comfort for the suffering.
Members meet every Wednesday morning to pray. They have "prayed
through" the church directory more than once, calling by name three
families each week. They pray each week for three young people from the
youth group and for three of our college students. The church and its
activities, staff, committees, members, teachers are on the prayer
list, as well as William Jewell College, public schools, and other
Liberty institutions. Missions causes are a concern as we hear about
needs in Nepal, India, Ethl Lesotho, Belarus, and more.
The rest of the hour is
spent in prayer for persons who are ill, bereaved, looking for work,
facing divorce, or any other problems that confront us.
Everyone is welcome to join the Intercessory Prayer Time, either on a
regular basis or from time to time. Long-term participants have found
great joy in seeing and giving thanks for the answers God has given. We
welcome prayer requests. Intercessory Prayer Time is Wednesday at 10:00
a.m. in the Assembly Room.
