CHILDREN'S MINISTRY EVENTS
SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AT SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH
Vacation Bible School
Each July, Second Baptist invites children ages 4 through 5th grade to join in a week of fun as we explore the Gospel. VBS
is about sharing the Gospel with kids in a fun atmosphere with the goal of
leading them into a relationship with Christ. Each year the church facility is transformed into a wonderland of adventure and excitement as the VBS theme comes alive within our walls. Each year 75-100 volunteers from our church family and the community help prepare, teach, and share the Gospel through our GospelLight VBS curriculum. Second Baptist Church extends an open invitation to join in the fun to any and every kid in the community. There is no cost, just watch for registration to open in May.

ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN/PARENTS AT SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH
Food Share Sundays
On the first Sunday of each month, children are encouraged to join
the congregation in bringing food and other needed items as donations to
In As Much Ministries. Collection areas are inside all church
entrances. Watch church publications for specific needs or click here
Church Library
A wide variety of resources (books, CDs, DVDs, and videos) for both
children and adults are available for check-out in the library. In
addition to Bible-based and other wholesome material for children, there
are books that address specific situations and issues that children and
parents experience.
Second Friends Preschool
Second Friends is a preschool ministry for our community. Children
must be three years old before August 1st to enroll. Several two-day
classes (half-day and full-day) and one four-day class (for older PreK
children) are offered. For more information, click here,
or contact Angela Bush, Second Friends Director, at 781.3882.
Family Dedications
Families with newborn or newly-adopted children are invited to
participate in a time of dedication during worship. This is a personal
and meaningful moment for the family as well as the entire
congregation. Together we affirm the child as a life created in the
image of God, recognize the parents’ responsibility for nurturing the
spiritual development of the child, and claim responsibility as a
congregation for supporting both the child and the parents. Anyone
wishing to participate may call the church office or Angie Fuller
(415.2250).
Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS)
Fellowship and support are offered to mothers of young children from
this church and the surrounding community. The group meets on the
second Friday of each month (Sept. – May) from 9:30-11:30 AM with
childcare provided. Meetings include brunch, encouraging discussions,
guest speakers, and crafts. A variety of “Moms and Tots” and “Moms
Night Out” events are often scheduled, as well as ongoing interest and
support groups. For more information, contact Kristin Wooldridge, MOPS
Coordinator, at 792.2564 or mops2bc@gmail.com.
