Students

Second Baptist's Student Ministry is an active vital part of our community of faith. Adolescence is a time of massive amounts of transition in people's lives and it is our belief that being part of a community (read: family) of like-minded believers can help give teenagers a firm foundation as they seek to create their own identity, learn to love their neighbor as themselves, and to grow into becoming a disciple of Jesus.

We are a band of ragamuffins, pilgrims, sinners, and saints. You are more than welcome to join us!

Registration for Disciple Now is now open! D-Now is an incredible weekend full of fun times, group bonding, and spiritual and social growth.

Our theme this year is "Be the Good". We will spend the weekend looking for examples of good in the world and asking ourselves how we can best bring out the good in this life. Katie Callaway will be our speaker. Katie is Associate Pastor of Education and Spiritual Formation at First Baptist Church, Carrollton, GA. Katie is a wonderful human being with a great heart for students and a personality that will definitely fill the weekend!

Our schedule will include some great nightly group events, including an ice cream social and a chance to play Bubble Soccer! If you haven't played before you are in for a treat! We will also have times of meaningful worship and discussion, as well as a service opportunity with Hillcrest Ministries. And of course some down time for relaxation and fun!

One of the best things about D-Now is that it happens right here in town. That means if you have a conflct that wekeend and can only come for part of D-Now we can work with your schedule to make sure you get the best experience possible!

Senior High

9–12th graders

Our ministry to Senior High students strives to be a place where older teenagers feel safe to voice their opinions, to explore their identity, and to work together to figure out what it means for us to follow Jesus. We are a band of ragamuffins who don’t try to pretend we’re perfect. Instead, we recognize that we need the love of God and the embrace of community to be who we are truly called to be.

Middle School

6–8th graders

Our Middle School ministry strives to be a place where students can find community, be themselves, and explore faith together. We do that through playing games together, going on retreats, and serving on missions trips each summer. Middle School is often seen as a time of stress, confusion, and frustration, but does it have to be? Our belief is that what can greatly help students is being in a community of faith with their friends who are trying to figure out how to follow Jesus together. That’s what we strive to do.
