STUDENT MINISTRY @ Second Baptist Church
Bible Study .1 . 2 . 3
(All ages)
Sundays, 9:45 a.m.
We start out the morning by eating breakfast together. We sing a couple of worship songs and break into three classes: Middle School ( . 1), Jr. High ( . 2), and Sr. High ( . 3). Each class is specifically for the study of the Bible and is led by folks who have a heart for students to know how much God loves them.
InnerMission . 1 . 2 . 3
(All Ages)
Sundays, 6:45 p.m.
For a usual InnerMission we gather together, hear about upcoming Student Ministry events, sing a song together, and then we have a special time called MyStory.
During MyStory, we listen to one part of someone’s spiritual journey; maybe it’s a camp they attended, when they were alone in nature, or just any experience where they felt themselves growing in some way. After MyStory, all students have the option of either being part of Anthem, which is a high energy game, or Deep Thoughts, which is an open discussion.
Formation . 1
(Middle School Students)
Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.
Middle School students will have the opportunity for both fun games and meaningful conversation with one another during Middle School Formation. Sometimes the group is split into guys and girls and sometimes everybody stays together. Regardless, the focus is on how the ever-weird period known as Middle School can serve a purpose in making us who God wants us to be.
Discussion Groups . 2 . 3
(Jr. & Sr. High Students)
Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m.
Jr. High students will meet at 218 N. Leonard / Sr. High students will meet at 429 Wilson St.
At these Discussion Groups, the students are led into an open and honest conversation about a wide range of topics including everything from the Bible to sexuality to honesty to politics to theology to interpersonal relationships to Batman. Students are encouraged to take an active role in leading these conversations, and the leaders seek to merely guide the students through the process of getting to know themselves, one another, and God.
MUSIC
Second Baptist Church has
