Vacation Bible School

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2017

July 10-14, 2017

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
For children ages 4 through 5th grade
It's free!

At Maker Fun Factory, kids discover that God made them—and for a purpose! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings.

VOLUNTEERS

We need volunteers of all ages, abilities, and interests. Would you like to volunteer during VBS? Click here to sign up. We will be in touch to find out your interest and get you assigned and trained!

All volunteers must have a background check that was completed between June 2014 and June 2017. We will check our service and let you know if you need to complete a new background check. If you already know you need a background check, go ahead and follow the instructions on this link. The cost for a background check is $12.50 per person. The church will gladly pay this but if you would like to help offset this cost you can do so online, or submit a check at the Welcome Center drop box or in the offering plate. Please make checks payable to 2BC and mark the memo line “VBS Background Check.” If you are not sure if you need one, just ask Gwen and she will let you know.

Supply Donations

A list of all the items we need can be downloaded here. We're also using SignUp.com to organize our Maker Fun Factory VBS donation sign-ups. Follow this link to see what we need and sign up. You will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.

Your child will have the opportunity to help others in two ways this week at VBS. We are asking the children to bring a monetary gift each day that will be collected and given directly through Cooperative Baptist Fellowship to the Naomi Center in Bucharest, Romania. This center exists to help women, mainly Roma, to better their lives and livelihoods, which will have a positive effect on their entire families. The women are taught sewing courses and are encouraged to produce items to sell. The sales of these items help the women to support their families. (Some of their products are currently being sold in the Many Hands Fair Trade Shop across the street!).  Included in your information packet are five envelopes to use for your offering, one for each day. (Parents, we encourage you to use this opportunity to have a conversation with your child about the discipleship of giving, whether it be 5 cents or $5.00.  What we want is for your child to experience the joy of helping someone else.) Online donations can also be made here.

The other opportunity for giving will be through bringing school supplies for the local Inasmuch ministry. As school begins, Inasmuch provides necessary supplies for those families in the Liberty area who aren’t able to buy them on their own. Check back for a list of daily suggested items for donation.
