Who we are . . .

Second Baptist Church was organized on   We support local, national and international missions, eduction and benevolence in cooperation with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. We believe in the doctrines of the Christian faith: God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe as revealed in the Bible; the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Virgin Birth, Substitutionary and Atoning Death, Bodily Resurrection, and Imminent Return; the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit at the guide of every believer.   We believe that all people by mortal nature practice sin against GOD, but that by personal acceptance of Jesus Christ and commitment to Him, we are by the grace of God born into God’s family.   We stand on historic Baptist distivtives including the priesthood of every believer, the autonomy of the local church and the separation of church and state. Our ministry and faith family offers opportunities for growing in faith through worship, Bible study, music, missions and service and fellowship and community for all ages.  

When visiting on Sunday Mornings:  Our Welcome Center is located right inside the South Entrance (Kansas Street). This entrance is a handicap entrance and allows free access to the first floor and the elevator to all other floors. Our Connections Team staffs the Center on Sundays with members ready to help orient new visitors to Bible Study groups, worship and much more.
