Disciple Now 2012
A World Unbroken
March 23-25
Cost: $45.00
An Invitation from Tyler Tankersley, Student Pastor
Even a cursory glance at the daily news and you will see stories about disease, famine, war, and starvation. You will find stories about kids being abused, politicians lying through their teeth, people being killed by other people, and families being ripped apart by loss.
We are surrounded by brokenness.
And sometimes I can be tempted to think that brokenness is something that happens to other people. But then I realize that I am filled with insecurities, selfishness, and impurities. Just like Paul says, “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate” (Romans 7:15). Paul is being vulnerable and admitting that he is a flawed person. And I am a flawed person. We are all flawed people.
We are surrounded by brokenness.
But . . . God has a dream for us. God had a dream to restore this world of ours. God has a dream to fill all the cracks and crevices of our souls with hope and healing.
Where there is brokenness, God wants to bring restoration.
During Disciple Now 2012 (March 23–25) we are going to explore the ideas surrounding brokenness, and we will ask the hard questions about our world, our community, and ourselves. Then we will talk about restoration. We will discuss how God wants to rescue us and show us a new way of being human. And if we are open to God’s way for our lives, we will see a world unbroken.
