Coffee & Conversation will still meet on Monday, January 19, at 1 p.m. in the Social Room, even though the church office will be closed for MLK, Jr. Day. Coffee & Conversation is open to all senior adults. We enjoy good coffee and even better conversation!

Our chili and dessert cookoff will be extra special this year! During the event, we’ll honor Charlie Hughes, our senior adult ministries coordinator, who is retiring at the end of December. Mark your calendars for Sunday, January 11, from 5:00-7:00 in the Social Room, and plan to join us. Prizes for the best chili and dessert will be awarded! Our first men's breakfast of 2026 is on Saturday, January 3, at 8:30 in the Social Room. All men are welcome and no reservation is needed. Come and enjoy good food and fellowship.

Have brunch with us on December 28 at 10 a.m. in the Social Room, followed by 11 worship. We will not have a 9:00 worship service or 10:00 Bible study/community groups.

Help the Deacons spread some Christmas cheer at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home, where several of our church family are residents. We’ll sing some carols while the residents eat their evening meal.

Singers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome! Song sheets will be provided. Come by yourself, grab a friend, or bring the whole family! (They love to see children!) Plan to join us on December 21 at 4:45 p.m.

Join us on Wednesdays during Advent for a three-week Bible study about Mary, the mother of Christ. Pastoral Resident Jana Atkinson Morga is planning the study and will lead us. We’ll meet on December 3, 10, and 17 from 6-6:45 p.m. in the Assembly Room.

Senior Adults gather for Coffee and Conversation on the first and third Mondays of each month in the Social Room. The first Monday is at 10:00 a.m., and the third Monday is at 1:00 p.m. Please bring your mug and plan to enjoy a time of fellowship.

The Student Ministry annual Christmas Party is on Sunday, December 14, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Please note the shorter time: we'll end at 7:30 instead of 8.

We'll have dinner together and our annual white elephant gift exchange. Bring a wrapped white elephant gift for the exchange. We're switching up the rules of the gift exchange this year. Please don't spend any money on your gift! Instead, we're doing a true white elephant. That means you find something in your house to wrap up! Also, we are not doing the fuzzy socks exchange this year.

Dress up in your favorite Ugly Christmas sweater to show off your holiday cheer!

Please plan to join us for our annual Celebrate the Season: Community Christmas Concert this December. This year's concert is on Saturday, December 13, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary.

We are especially excited about this year's concert because Mark Hayes is our guest conductor. He is an award-winning composer, arranger, and conductor known for his contributions to choral, piano, and orchestral music.

The concert is free, but an offering will be taken during the event. Please invite family and friends. It's going to be a great concert!

We are thrilled that Mark Hayes, our guest conductor for Celebrate the Season, has agreed to host a pre-concert conversation in the sanctuary from 2:15-2:35 p.m. on December 13.

This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from an acclaimed composer and conductor. All of the selections at the concert—except for the handbells—are Mark’s own compositions. His music is performed in churches and universities around the world and is known for its distinctive American sound, blending gospel, jazz, pop, folk, and classical styles.

During the conversation, he will discuss the works to be performed during the concert and his compositional process. The concert will begin at 3 p.m.

Join us on Sunday evening, December 7, from 5-7 p.m. for a come-and-go reception at the home of Jason and Christy Edwards. The deacons will provide delicious Christmas cookies and punch (gluten-free options will be available).

Jason and Christy's address is 462 E Kansas St, Liberty, MO, 64068. Their house is within walking distance of the church. You can park at the church and walk up to their house, or park on either side of their street. The entrance on the east side of their house has no steps.

Progressive Dinner 

December 6

All students are invited to our annual Progressive Dinner on Saturday, December 6 from 6-9:30 p.m. A progressive dinner is a three-course dinner with each course served at a different location! We’ll have appetizers at one house, our main course at the next, and finish up at the third house for dessert. There is no cost for this event, but registration is required so we’ll know how much food to provide. We’ll meet at church at 6 pm and be back about 9:30pm.

All men are invited to our December Men's Breakfast. We're going to Corner Cafe on December 6 at 8:15 a.m. We’ll all pay for our own food.

Kids birth through 5th grade are invited to join us for Whoville Holiday on Friday, December 5, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. (Parents, that means you get a night to yourselves!) Dinner for the kids will be provided, and parents can drop off/pick up through the evening as needed. 

 If you do not have young children and would like to help in some way for part or all of that evening, contact Angie at afuller@2bcliberty.org. We will need lots of teens and adults to help in various ways!
